Terms of Service

What this service is

The Family Portal is a feature of kidspodcasts.com that lets grown-ups create child profiles, approve podcast content, and manage a paired child podcast app. It is designed to be used by adults on behalf of children in their care.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or older to create a Family Portal account. The paired child app is intended for children and should only be set up by a parent or guardian.

How sign-in works

We use magic links — you enter your email address and we send you a one-click sign-in link. There is no password. Your email address is the only personal information we collect to create your account.

What data we store

  • Your email address (for authentication only)
  • Child profile names and avatar emoji you create
  • PINs for child profiles (stored as a one-way hash — we cannot read them)
  • Your content approval choices (which podcasts and episodes you have approved)

We do not sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Scope of content control

The child app shows only podcast content you have approved. It is a curated listening experience, not a device-level parental control. A child with access to the device could uninstall and reinstall the app. For stronger enforcement, use your device's built-in parental controls (iOS Screen Time or Android Family Link) alongside this app.

Podcast content

All podcast audio is streamed directly from the original podcast publishers. We do not host audio files. We are not responsible for the content of third-party podcast feeds. The approval system is provided as a convenience tool; please preview episodes yourself before approving them for your child.

Changes and availability

This service is provided free of charge and may change or be discontinued at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.

No warranties

This service is provided "as is" without any warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Family Portal or the child app.
